The
Company's major health facility Hotel de Health™ is based in the Caribbean on the island of Anguilla.
The
facility opened in June 1997 and has exceeded all estimates for patient volume,
number of medical procedures and cash flow projections.
The facility
currently has in excess of 5,000 patient files (the population of the
Island is only approx. 10,000). This does not include
the patients who are tourists and considered transient because they are
on vacation and may not return to Anguilla or Dialysis patients.
The
company will continue to focus on expanding its medical base in the
Caribbean and on the Island of Anguilla in particular.
The individual divisions operated by the facility include::
1.
Urgicenter
- This is
a new concept in the medical
care in the Caribbean that has been developed by Medical Services
International Inc. It focuses on Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine,
Diagnostics and medical conditions related to hypertension, diabetes and
heart diseases. These specific medical specialties represent approximately
75% of all the complaints of patients who can be treated relatively
easily. This concept has become very popular and is affordable to the
average individual.
2.
Dialysis - The dialysis
industry is growing at a rate of 12% to 14% per year. Our dialysis facility
combines dialysis for the chronic care dialysis (local area residents)
with dialysis for the traveler from North America.
3.
Chelation - Chelation is a
viable alternative to by-pass surgery that does not involve the long
waiting lists and prohibitive costs. It is non-invasive. In 74% of the
cases the individuals opting to use chelation will no longer require
by-pass surgery once the chelation treatments are completed. In an environment
where by-pass surgery is not readily available due to lack of medical
facilities
or economic constraints chelation becomes a real and viable alternative.
4.
Vitamins and Medical Products -
The company has established a very profitable business by supplying
vitamins and pharmaceuticals that are not readily available, to
patients and other individuals.
