Medical Services Dengue Fever Kit in Demand

Medical Services International Inc. (OTC: MSITF) wishes to announce that it is receiving significant interest in its VScan Dengue Fever test kit. Based on excellent initial test results, the Dengue Fever test kit is now being tested for regulatory approval in 12 different countries.
 

Dengue Fever has 4 different levels of infection. The VScan Dengue Fever test kit picks up all four levels of infection. While only level 4 causes death the other three levels cause individuals to become infirm for significant periods of time. The key to limiting the period of infirmity is early diagnosis. Currently it takes a standard laboratory up to three weeks to diagnosis Dengue Fever. The VScan Dengue Fever test kit gives results within 20 minutes and the individual can go on treatment that will shorten the period of infirmity.
 

Based on marketing studies and information received from distributors, it is reasonable to assume that we will sell in excess of 500,000 Dengue Fever test kits this year.
 

The Company has received preliminary independent test results from ongoing studies that are being conducted on its VScan Tuberculosis (TB) test kits. The initial results show that there are no false positives. When compared to other tests conducted at the same time, there were a significant number of false positives with the other tests. The cost to follow up test a person who has a false positive is expensive and time consuming. The VScan TB test kits eliminate this cost and time constraint.
 

It is projected by the WHO in published literature that TB will kill over 8.0 million people this year. This is more deaths from TB than all the other infectious diseases combined. With early diagnosis, most TB is treatable. The fact that the VScan TB test kit only measures active TB and as such does not give false positives, makes it very valuable in terms of follow up testing costs and saving of time to verify false positives.
 

Medical Services has developed a combined HIV and TB test kit. This kit tests for both HIV and TB at the same time. Over 35% of the individuals who test positive with HIV have TB. By testing for both diseases at the same time, there are tremendous savings related to cost and time. The VScan TB test kit is currently being tested for regulatory approval in seven countries.
