Medical Services International Completes
Testing in Additional Caribbean Country

EDMONTON, Canada, Oct. 1, 2004 -- Medical Services International Inc. (Pinksheets: MSITF) is pleased to announce that it has received it has it has completed a series of testing of its VScan HIV 1&2 rapid test kit in the Dominican Republic. The results of the testing show that the VScan HIV test kit had a 100% accuracy in terms of sensitivity and specificity.

The results obtained will be important in the approval process with other countries in the Caribbean. The Company has agreed to "live" testing under physician supervision as follow up to this testing. The Company has also been invited to attend meetings related to the distribution of the VScan HIV kits in the Dominican Republic.

The characteristic of the VScan test kit not needing refrigeration became important in this case as the hurricanes throughout the Caribbean in the last six weeks resulted in the DR not having power, and the VScan test kits were able to be stored on a shelf in adverse conditions and still worked perfectly. In the final report, the technician using the VScan HIV test kit reported that "the VScan test kits were easy to use and easy to read."

As Medical Services International continues with the approval process throughout different parts of the world the VScan test kit continues to perform at the highest level possible, exceeding all test parameters required by regulatory agencies.
