Medical Services Ships VScan Test Kits to Haiti

October 7, 2004
EDMONTON, Canada, Oct. 7, 2004 -- Medical Services International Inc. (Pinksheets: MSITF) is pleased to announce that it has begun shipping VScan HIV, TB, and Dengue Fever test kits to Haiti. Several medical clinics on Haiti that are run by international physicians specializing in the diagnosis of HIV have ordered VScan test kits to begin a testing program in Haiti. With the damage caused by the hurricanes in the Caribbean, it has also been requested that VScan TB and Dengue Fever test kits be sent. Dengue Fever is transmitted by mosquitoes and it is expected that the flooding and stagnant water will result in a significant increase in Dengue Fever as the mosquito population increases. Early diagnosis is the key to treatment of Dengue Fever. Medical Services has also pledged that it will send an additional 1000 of each type of test kit for humanitarian use.

The Caribbean has a permanent population of approximately 14 million people and a transient population of another approximately 25 million people. As the VScan test kits become well known, the Company feels that it will be able to supply a significant part of the overall Caribbean market.
