Medical Services International Begins Shipping
 the VScan HIV Test Kits to Japan

EDMONTON, Canada, Oct. 29, 2004 -- Medical Services International Inc. (Pinksheets: MSITF) is pleased to announce that it has begun to ship the VScan HIV rapid test kit to Japan. The Company now ships the VScan HIV test kits to 6 different countries in Southeast Asia not including China. With its final approval to export the VScan test kits from China, the Shanghai facility will be the ultimate source of supply for these countries. The Shanghai facility has the capacity of supplying in excess of 6 million VScan test kits per year. Its capacity can easily be expanded to in excess of 10 million kits per year should the need arise.

The Company continues to have significant interest shown in both its Tuberculosis (TB) test kit and its Dengue Fever test kit. As these kits receive regulatory approvals and their accuracy becomes known, it is expected that the demand will exceed 3,000,000 kits per year.

The VScan rapid test kit is a single use, easy to use, test for the screening of HIV 1& 2 subgroup O, Hepatitis B&C, Tuberculosis (TB), Dengue Fever and West Nile. The kits cannot be sold in Canada.
